Fitness & Health Philosophy:

Function over form, it is better to actually be high performance than to just look high performance. I've never viewed fitness as a hobby, but instead, a way of life. Exercise should just be incorporated into your routine like eating. I think the best way to maintain an active lifestyle is to integrate training into your schedule. Instead of leaving your workout up in the air and based on how you feel, commit to training on certain days of the week and predetermine what time you’ll set aside for training. Working out should be fun and enjoyable! Maybe that sounds crazy to beginners, but as you get the hang of it, you’ll learn to enjoy the process. There are so many different ways to work out and stay active, I think everyone can find a type or form of exercise that they genuinely enjoy doing!

Get to know Johnny:

I am a firm believer in Christ. I am a United States Marine Corps Veteran and current student at Texas State University. I've always been highly intrigued by Psychology and that's what I'm currently studying. My goal is to become a Clinical Psychologist. I started lifting weights in high school for football, however, I became passionate about training at age 16 due to depression. I found that exercise was therapeutic and was something I could look forward to each day. My mind could just focus on training and nothing else mattered during my workout. Even if the day was bad, I always felt good when I was training. I’ve been exercising consistently ever since. I genuinely enjoy getting to share my passion for training with others and helping people navigate their own personal fitness journey. Apart from training, my other passions include: attending church, my dog Rex, football, performance vehicles, the military, good food, researching random things that interest me, binging a good tv series, and coffee!
